Transformers: Generations Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Tentakil

Read my review of all of the Seacons: NautilatorOverbite, Seawing, Skalor, Snaptrap, Tentakil, and Piranacon!

Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Moonracer, Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Novastar, Siege Deluxe Class Chromia, Siege Deluxe Class Greenlight, Selects Deluxe Class Nightbird, Siege Deluxe Class Lancer, Netflix War for Cybertron Trilogy Deluxe Class Chromia

Tentakil

Creature Mode: Tentakil is a truly gruesome monster. He looks awesome. He has an amazing paintjob. What I can’t quite wrap my mind around is how this monstrosity is based on the Moonracer mold, but it is.

Weapon Mode: Tentakil’s gun mode is okay, but I wish the flap that stuck out on the top front had guns on it. It’s purpose seems to just be so that his face isn’t sitting on top of the gun. I get that, it would look silly with the flap the other way, but it just feels like it needed something more.

Robot Mode: Tentakil’s robot mode is not bad. I don’t love the head sculpt. It looks like he’s wearing a helmet. It would have been nice if the panel behind his head folded down a bit more. In addition to his two guns he had an axe that becomes part of Piranacon’s sword. I forgot to take a picture of him with it.

Overall: Tentakil is very cool, and long overdue. I’ve been waiting for these guys since Combiner Wars, and it was well worth the wait.

Hmmm… Something about Tentakil seems…familiar.

I think I see a family resemblance. Same lifeless dead eyes…same enormous forehead. Makes sense. They’re both soulless bottom feeders.

🙂

Thanks for reading!

I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

In Beast Wars II, one of them was female. Takara announced they would be remolding the toy for the God Neptune Box set, but the original Seacons were all male. Blackarachnia was the first female transformer released in the USA.

Unless one of them was female in Japan, but I don’t believe so, or Takara would not need to remold the toy for God Neptune.

    Thanks,

Are you sure that none of the Seacons are girls? A few of them look pretty feminine (like this one)…
