Transformers: Generations Selects Deluxe Class Seacon Nautilator

Read my review of all of the Seacons: NautilatorOverbite, Seawing, Skalor, Snaptrap, Tentakil, and Piranacon!

Previous Mold Use: Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Blot, Power of the Primes Deluxe Class Terrorcon Rippersnapper

Nautilator

Creature Mode: Nautilator (AKA Lobclow, AKA Lobclaw) is awesome in lobster mode. His colors are perfect, and he’s bigger than most deluxe toys. He bares little resemblance to Rippersnapper whose mold he is based on, but he does share the same claw/hand design as Blot. His creature face is more detailed that the G1, but you can still see the similarities in the design. My only complaint about his lobster mode is that the blue bar his legs connect to don’t properly peg in under his body. There is slot it is supposed to rest in, but one side pops out on mine. It would have been really easy to fix this by making the slot deeper and the peg longer.

Weapon Mode: There is a serious flaw in the design of his gun mode. His creature legs get in the way of mounting him to the hand/base as shown in the instructions. You need to bend up the fingers, and it rests on both the hand/stand and the legs. Not a huge problem, but the proper way to configure him as a gun should have been in the instructions.

Robot Mode: Nautilator looks great in robot mode. He has three weapons, an axe that forms part of Piranacon’s sword, a gun, and his tail that converts to a gun. I love his head sculpt. The only thing I would have liked is a few more paint apps, in both modes.

Overall: Nautilator is pretty awesome. I’ve been waiting for these guys since Combiner Wars, and it was well worth the wait.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
