Transformers: Cyberverse Deluxe Class Hot Rod

Hot Rod

Vehicle Mode: Hot Rod’s vehicle mode wouldn’t look bad if they had only painted his spoiler yellow. As is, I really don’t like it. It’s just cheap to leave out such an essential paint app. Add to that how stupid those flames look on the sides. They aren’t coming from the back of the pipes, they are stuck onto the outside of them. They could have easily make them attach to the ends of the pipes instead.

Robot Mode: Hot Rod looks pretty good in robot mode. He has pretty decent paint apps, accept for the red spoiler, and I love the head sculpt. Here again though you can see how silly the flames look on the outside of the pipes rather than coming from the end.

Overall: Hot Rod’s robot mode is better than the Warrior Class toy, no doubt, but in car mode, the lack of such a fundamental paint app makes the Warrior Class toy the better of the two overall. It’s a shame Hasbro had to go so cheap on it.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
