Transformers Artifact of the Week: Beast Wars and Beast Wars II Pocket Beasts

I recently picked up a cool Beast Wars II Pocket Beasts game. Before I get to that however, I don’t know much about Pocket Beasts. I’m not even sure that is what they are called, though I’ve seen that name in a few places. I have no way of translating the test on the packages. If you have any info you can give me on these I would appreciate it.

First off, is a MOC set of Beast Wars Pocket Beasts. This is set A and includes Cheetor, Optimus Primal, Scorponok, and Tarantulas. I also have them loose.

Unfortunately I don’t have set B MOC (I am looking for one) but I do have a loose set that includes Dinobot, Megatron, Rattrap, and Terrorsaur.

Two additional sets were released for Beast Wars II. These were in small window boxes rather than on cards. Unlike the Beast Wars sets, the Beast Wars II sets included accessories for all figures except one. Set A consisted of BB, Clawjaw (no accessories), Lio Convoy, and Starscream.

Set B included B’Boom, Galvatron, Megatron, and Snarl.

My most recent acquisition is a Beast Wars II Pocket Beasts game. This includes a full set of the Beast Wars II Pocket Beasts figures including their accessories. The Predacons/Decepticons are cast in translucent blue while the Maximals are cast in translucent red. It includes a fold out game board, game pieces, and a miniature dice. I am not sure if this game is meant of be part of the Pocket Beasts series or if they just reused the molds for the game. I have never seen a similar gave for Beast Wars

As always, you can find over 17,000 Transformers artifacts from every Transformers series and generation at

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
