Blog #1813: Toy Review: Transformers: Studio Series Deluxe Class Soundwave & Laserbeak

Transformers: Studio Series Deluxe Class Soundwave & Laserbeak

At least they painted his eyes. Too bad they couldn’t spare a few more drops so he wouldn’t look like crap. It’s interesting that they included Laserbeak. In the movie we don’t see Laserbeak and Soundwave together very much.

Vehicle Mode: Soundwave looks awesome. They did a great job on his car mode. It looks great in silver, I’m so glad they didn’t do him in gray. Soundwave is one of the easier Studio Series toys to transform, much easier than most of the cars.

Robot Mode: Soundwave’s robot mode is perfect. I love the tires sitting behind his head, and he has a great head sculpt. Laserbeak can clip on to his arm.

Overall: Soundwave is one of the truly great toys in the Studio Series line. He’s an absolute must have.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
