Blog #1802: Toy Review: Transformers Masterpiece Movie Jazz

Transformers Masterpiece Movie Jazz

Sam Witwicky

Sam is cartoonishly out of scale with Jazz. He wouldn’t even fit inside Jazz if he were articulated. He looks fine other than the lack of some paint apps on his face to make him actually look human.

Jazz

Vehicle Mode: Jazz’s vehicle mode is pretty close to perfect. I just wish they had tinted his windows so his inner workings were less visible. A smoke gray tint would have looked great.

Robot Mode: Jazz looks great in robot mode. I hate the design of his hands, but they are accurate to the movie. His legs come off and there is an attachment to make it look like his guts are hanging out. I wouldn’t say this adds a lot to the toy, but it doesn’t take away from it either.

Overall: Jazz was surprisingly easy to transform for a Masterpiece toy, or at least he was until I got to his arms. The instructions are completely useless at that point. I finally had to find a video of him being transformed to figure out how to do it right. I recommend Jazz for all movie fans.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
