Blog #1782: Toy Review: Transformers: Authentics Titan Changers Wave 1 (Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus Prime)

Transformers: Authentics Titan Changers Wave 1 (Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus Prime)

Bumblebee

Bumblebee actually looks great in vehicle mode. They even painted his windows, or at least most of them. He needed more paint apps, but the vehicle is very well designed. I won’t say his robot mode is a dumpster fire, but it’s not great. I’ve seen worse though. I like his face sculpt.

Megatron

I love Megatron’s tank mode. It might be the best titan changer alternate mode they’ve ever made (though there aren’t that many to choose from). Like Bumblebee, Megatron’s robot mode is not awful. I kind of wish we got this toy in silver rather than gray. His face sculpt is decent, and he has a pretty good head sculpt.

Optimus Prime

There is nothing grievously bad about Optimus Prime’s robot mode. In fact, I really like the head sculpt. I’d call him above average. His vehicle mode is not too bad. I’m not crazy about the blue panels on the side of the cab, but it doesn’t look that bad. He does had two holes in his roof. Also, this arms don’t fold up the way they should so they stick out the back and leave a big open void in the back of the cab.

Overall: For Titan Changers, these are pretty good. I had a hell of a time finding them. I finally got them on eBay for just about retail price. Don’t pay too much though. I watched the set on eBay for a while and the price dropped a couple of times. Nobody is going to overpay for these.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
