Blog #1755: Toy Review: Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy Wave 2 (Hoist)

Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy Wave 2 (Hoist)

Hoist

Hoist looks very much like an upsized version of one of the Rescan Series Hoists. He does have a cool new feature, a hook that extends from under his front bumper, which can be snapped back in be pressing his bumper. It’s supposed to be a winch, but it snaps in so fast, it’s not terribly useful as a winch. It can also be deployed when in robot mode.

Overall: Hoist is pretty cool. It seems like Hasbro is just going to keep cranking out random versions of the RBA characters in the Rescan Series, and make this the main line. Wedge is upcoming. That leaves only Hot Shot without a toy in this scale, and I assume we’re going to get three of them, one of each of his alt modes. Seems odd they left Hot Shot until last. I also wonder if we will get the original Rescue Bots characters in this scale.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
