Transformers: Bumblebee: One Step Changer Optimus Prime

While Hasbro decided not to do One Step Changers For Transformers: Bumblebee, instead replacing them with the Energon Igniters Power Series, Takara did do a series of three One Step Changers. One was a repainted The Last Knight One Step Changer Barricade, but the other two are a new mold Bumblebee and an Optimus Prime.

Optimus Prime

This Optimus Prime looks amazing. In vehicle mode he is pretty much a perfect a perfect G1 Optimus Prime, while in robot mode he is clearly from the movies, though not so much from Transformers Bumblebee. I have included comparison photos with Cyberverse One Step Changer Optimus Prime and Age of Extinction One Step Changer Galvatron. As you can see they use the same transformation, but what I find more interesting is, does this make them remolds? Normally I wouldn’t care, but if we can call Cyberverse Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Optimus Prime remolds of Age of Extinction Galvatron, then I believe this is the first time an Optimus Prime toy has ever been a remold of a Megatron toy. (Yes, I know they called him Galvatron, but he was really Megatron.) I just think that is an interesting historical tidbit. That aside, this is a great toy, and can be had for around $20 on eBay.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
