Transformers: Bumblebee: Energon Igniters Nitro Series Wave 2 (Blitzwing, Dropkick)

Energon Igniters Nitro Series and Energon Igniters Power Plus Series toys come with an Energon Core that can be used to propel Nitro Series, Power Plus Series, Power Series, and Speed Series toys. They also deploy weapons on all but the Speed Series. Energon Cores are interchangeable.

Blitzwing

Vehicle Mode: Blitzwing’s jet mode is pretty good. It would be perfect if the underside of his knees weren’t sitting behind his wings.

Robot Mode: I really like his robot mode. He could have used some paint apps on his legs, but he’s otherwise great. He has two different heads. His second head appears to be based on Transformers Animated Blitzwing’s “crazy” face. I like his movie face. Not sure I see the point of another one.

Dropkick

Vehicle Mode: Dropkick’s helicopter mode is awesome. I love the guns beside his cockpit. When his Energon Core is attached he has additional weapons.

Robot Mode: Dropkick’s robot mode is pretty great. I like him better than the Studio Series Deluxe Dropkick. Colors are great. I just wish he had a weapon in robot mode, though the same thing can be said of most every toy in this class.

Overall: The Energon Igniter feature doesn’t really do much for me. I’d have rather seen the action features built right into the toys. These two are great though. I highly recommend both. If you’re only going to get one, go with Dropkick. His vehicle mode is the better of the two.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
