Transformers: Generations: Power of the Primes Titan Class Predaking (Divebomb, Headstrong, Rampage, Razorclaw, Torox) & Prime Master Onyx Prime
Click here to read about how Hasbro ruined the Power of the Primes line before it even started.
Review of Prime Masters: Prime Masters are heads without faces. They can be carried by deluxe toys like a baby in a harness. What they should have done is created a face with a piece that could be flipped over to reveal the logo similar to the face designs of some G1 Headmasters, so you could either use him as a head or as a logo.
Onyx Prime
Divebomb
Beast Mode: Divebomb is basically a brick with a head and wings. He’s not terrible, but not great. He is a victim of Predaking’s design. Parts of Divebomb become Predaking’s waist, crotch, and of course, wings
Robot Mode: Divebomb’s robot mode is pretty cool. I love his face sculpt, and his colors are perfect. Those gold stickers on both sides of each wing were a pain to put on. All Predacons have a mix of paint apps and stickers.
Headstrong
Beast Mode: Headstrong looks pretty cool. Very reminiscent of the original toy. Unfortunately, you can see Predaking’s enormous thigh and hip hanging under his beast mode.
Robot Mode: In robot mode Headstrong looks great, but I’m not a huge fan of the way Predaking’s foot attaches to his shoulder. I would rather it just stored on his back, but then that’s where Predaking’s leg is, so that wouldn’t work either.
Rampage
Beast Mode: Rampage is my least favorite member of the team. His tiger mode is way too blocky, and I hate the black section on his back. That becomes Predaking’s shoulder. I hate that his gun becomes his tail.
Robot Mode: Rampage looks okay in robot mode. I know leaving his mouth plate red is accurate to the G1, but it looks pretty awful.
Razorclaw
Beast Mode: Except for the two yellow flaps on his back, Razorclaw looks pretty great. I love the lion head and the gold and black on his mane. Razorclaw should have been a leader class toy. He just doesn’t have enough mass to form Predaking’s body and it affected the design of the rest of the team. All four other toys have parts on them that should have been part of Razorclaw.
Robot Mode: Razorclaw looks great in robot mode. His colors are great and I love his head sculpt.
Torox
Beast Mode: I hate that they changed his name, so I will refer to Torox by his true name, Tantrum. Tantrum uses the same basic design as Headstrong with Predaking’s thigh and hip hanging beneath him. He doesn’t look bad.
Robot Mode: Like Headstrong, I hate the way Tantrum holds Predaking’s foot in robot mode. Otherwise he looks pretty great.
Predaking
Robot Mode: Predaking in awesome! It almost makes it worth having each individual toy flawed for his combined for to be so great. I love the shoulder guns and his head sculpt. I just wish he came with a sword. For that matter, I wish they al came with swords.
Overall: Even with all the flaws on the individual team members, for Predaking alone this set is well worth it.

If Ollie’s has a sale, I’ll get it. I don’t know why everybody likes this toy
