Transformers: Bumblebee: San Diego Comic Con 2018 Exclusive Retro Rock Garage Volume 1 (Bumblebee, Dairu, Uruaz)

Dairu

This was really out of left field. Hasbro dug up the original molds for Dairu and Zauru, the rarer of the two sets of Japanese exclusive cassette combiners. Dairu comes in his original color scheme complete with G1 rub signs. He looks great.

Uruaz

Uruaz is a Decepticon repaint of Zauru. I really like how he looks in these colors. There was a lot of confusion when these were announced about why he wasn’t in the original Zauru colors. As it turns out, this is only volume 1 of a 2 volume set. Volume 2 is an upcoming Entertainment Earth exclusive that will include a gold VW Bumblebee, Zauru, and a Decepticon version of Dairu called Uriad.

Combined

So, technically, these two do not belong combined with one being an Autobot and the other a Decepticon. The actual combiners can’t be made until you have both sets, but I combined them just for the hell of it.

Bumblebee

Previous Mold Use: Studio Series Deluxe Bumblebee

Bumblebee looks pretty great in gold. I’m a little disappointed they didn’t paint his bumpers silver, but otherwise his vehicle mode looks amazing. He looks equally amazing in robot mode.

Overall: I can’t recommend this set enough. Those Dairu and Zauru molds are must haves, and the Bumblebee repaint is pretty cool. Last I checked he was still in stock for $60 on HasbroToyShop.com.
