Transformers: Bumblebee: Energon Igniters Nitro Series Wave 1 (Barricade, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime)

Energon Igniters Nitro Series and Energon Igniters Power Plus Series toys come with an Energon Core that can be used to propel Nitro Series, Power Plus Series, Power Series, and Speed Series toys. They also deploy weapons on all but the Speed Series. Energon Cores are interchangeable.

Barricade

Vehicle Mode: I really like Barricade’s vehicle mode. We’re used to seeing him as a more present day police car, but I really like the classic 70s/80s police car look. He’s got great paint apps. Unfortunately, he is missing his police badge Decepticon logo, and that really sucks.

Robot Mode: It’s odd to see Barricade in any color other than black, but having said that, he doesn’t look bad. I like his head sculpt and the shoulder cannons.

Bumblebee

Vehicle Mode: Bumblebee looks great in his VW Bug mode. Shockingly, Hasbro actually painted all his windows.

Robot Mode: Bumblebee looks awesome in robot mode. I really like the way they designed his robot mode for the new movie. He’s got decent paint apps, and I love the head sculpt.

Optimus Prime

Vehicle Mode: Optimus Prime’s truck mode is pretty good, with the exception of his feet sitting on the back like they are. Of course they didn’t paint his side cab windows, which really sucks, but is par for the course for Hasbro.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Optimus Prime looks okay, but he’s nothing special.

Overall: The Energon Igniter feature doesn’t really do much for me. I’d have rather seen the action features built right into the toys. Having said that, they aren’t bad toys.
