Transformers: Beast Wars Metals Voyager Transmetal Megatron

Transmetal Megatron

Beast Mode: Megatron is awesome! I love this toy. It’s easily in the top ten Beast Wars toys. The Japanese version has darker copper plastic, and gray plastic instead of the USA version’s silver. The biggest change is the brown plastic of the USA versions is replaced with black. The USA version’s brown plastic becomes brittle and due to the design will shatter if transformed. I learned this the hard way…twice.

Vehicle Mode: The “Vehicle” modes of the Transmetal toys never really did anything for me. Megatron has turbines that flip up from his hips, and roller skates…for some reason.

Robot Mode: He looks amazing in robot mode. He has a great head sculpt. I actually prefer the look of the black plastic to the USA version. I wish his shoulders didn’t protrude down in from of his arms so much, but it’s not a major issue.

Overall: Transmetal Megatron is Transformers royalty. He’s a must, but get the Japanese one unless you’re going to leave him in the box.

“Say goodbye to the universe, Maximals. The future has changed, yessss. The Autobots lose! Evil triumphs! And you… YOU NO LONGER EXIST!” – Megatron, Transformers: Beast Wars, “The Agenda, Part III”

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
