Blog #1264: Transformers: The Last Knight Schick Hydro Razors Promotion

Transformers: The Last Knight Schick Hydro Promotion

Transformers: The Last Knight Toy Reviews

A friend of mine sent me a picture of a Schick Hydro razors store display from a Walgreens.

So, the next day I went to Walgreens.  Until I saw it myself, I had no idea how epic this display is.

That is so cool.  I have to get one of these displays.  But for now I had to settle for the contents of the display.

First off is a pair of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee razors.  These have replaceable blades and a travel cap.  You’ll notice that the Bumblebee version is for sensitive skin.  I would like to think this is a reference to Sam saying that Bumblebee is sensitive in the first movie, but I doubt that is the reason.

Next is replacement blades, again a set of two packages one for each.

This is a three pack of disposable razors.  I have not seen any Bumblebee disposables.  If anyone has, I would love to hear about it.

Finally, we have a can of shave gel featuring Optimus Prime.  Again, I didn’t see a Bumblebee version.

I think it is interesting to note that the previous movies did promotions with Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Big Red Soda (I’m muttering a string of expletives at the thought of that one), Oreos, Snickers, and others.  These are pretty much aimed at everyone young and old.  For The Last Knight we are getting Schick razors and Valvoline motor oil promotions.  This seems to indicate they are shooting for an older audience, something that I believe is supported by the deplorable joke that is currently available portion of The Last Knight toy line.  There are some toys to come that look like they will be better than what we’ve got so far, but it really seems like Hasbro is phoning it in on this line.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
