Blog #1204: Toy Review: Transformers: Movie the Best Deluxe Bumblebee

Transformers: Movie the Best Deluxe Bumblebee

When I first saw the announcement of a tenth anniversary Transformers movie toy line in Japan called “Movie the Best” I assumed that was a bad translation.  I mean, really, how stupid a name is “Movie the Best”?  Apparently not stupid enough for that to be the actual name of the line.  In any case, I’m only getting the toys with mold changes or added weapons.

Bumblebee is a repaint of the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Bumblebee.  I can’t put my hands on a DOTM Bumblebee for comparison, but pics I’ve seen online seem to show this version is slightly lighter than the original USA version.  Other than that, he only has minor changes.  He has one additional paint app on his legs just below his knees, and he has different striping on his hood and none on his roof.  I’m not certain if that’s a new mold weapon or a reuse from another toy.  It can connect onto his arm, but not be held in his hands.

Overall: If you don’t have a DOTM Deluxe Bumblebee, then it’s certainly worth it.  Otherwise skip.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
