I am not sure if he is meant to be Bludgeon, or if we are getting him repainted later as Bludgeon.  Blastwave is heavily remolded from Megatronus.  He’s so remolded, they’ve even turned his turret around backwards.  He looks great in both modes.  He’s got nice paint apps.  I really like he silver paint on his barrel and sword, and I love his head sculpt.  I highly recommend Blastwave.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.

  1. lmb3 says:

I hadn’t even noticed the artwork. They probably just gave him the Bludgeon face so they wouldn’t have to remold for the repaint.

  2. Looks like either the artwork was based on a prototype, or the design was modified and didn’t make it to the toy. The face of the toy clearly looks like Bludgeon, but the package artwork does not – complete with head wings / eyebrows / horns / whatever that aren’t on the toy.

Too bad CW Onslaught couldn’t get back cannons like that…
