Hoist has a lot of nice painted details.  It’s not a bad toy, but I think there are other toys that are actually based on characters from the cartoon, that I would much rather see.  As an example, we still haven’t got Rescan Series Dinobots of anyone other than Bumblebee and Optimus Prime.  Sideswipe is another one I’d like to see.

Finally we have an actual villain!  I really wish he was a Decepticon, but he’s a bad guy, so that will have to do.  I really like his vehicle design and colors.  Robot mode is pretty cool, and I like the head sculpt.

I’ve really enjoyed Quickshadow on the cartoon.  Her vehicle mode is very cool, but could use a few more paint apps, specifically, her rear widow.  Someone needs to remind the Hasbro designers that cars actually have windows in the back, since we see them forget to paint them over and over again.  Robot mode needs to have a few more paint apps, but has a really great head sculpt.

Overall: It’s a pretty good wave overall.  Not sure Hoist is that much better than the first Hoist toy.  I think Morbot and Quickshadow are a must.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
