They did a pretty great job on Blaster.  He’s the right base color and has excellent paint apps.

Chromia needs more paint apps, a recurring theme with Tiny Titans, but at least her base color is correct.

Not sure why we needed another version of Drift.  He’s okay.

tfrid2ttw5-07 tfrid2ttw5-08

Jazz’s base plastic color is wrong, and his paint apps are shit.

I know you can’t see the back of the toy, but Octopunch seems to be having an identity crisis.  The toy only has six legs.  Now, I’m not an expert, but I’m pretty sure that “octo” means eight.  That aside, he looks like crap.

Optimus Prime doesn’t look bad at all.

Another Perceptor with too few paint apps.  Did we really need another?

tfrid2ttw5-15 tfrid2ttw5-16

Starscream with crown and cape is pretty cool.  Needs more paint apps, but that goes without saying.

Again, we have a second version of a previous release.  Steeljaw has a sort of oversized head and too few paint apps.

Strongarm is okay, but again, did we need another one?

Thunderhoof is actually pretty cool.  I like the mold and the base plastic color is correct.  Could use a few more paint apps, but not bad.

I really like the molding for Windblade, and the base color is correct, but she needed more paint apps.

Overall: As usual, the theme of these toys is that they need more paint apps.  They at least got most of the base colors right in this wave, so that’s an improvement.

Thanks for reading!

I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
