Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) McDonald’s Toys 2016 (Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Steeljaw, Thunderhoof)

This time around, McDonald’s had four different characters each with a  toy in robot and vehicle mode.

Bumblebee (Vehicle)

Bumblebee has really nice paint apps, but the missile sticking out of his grill is pretty silly looking.

Bumblebee (Robot)

Robot Bumblebee looks pretty good.

Optimus Prime (Vehicle)

I really like Optimus Prime’s flip up launcher, and the vehicle is nicely detailed.

Optimus Prime (Robot)

Optimus Prime’s legs are enormous compared to his body, but he’s not bad overall.

Steeljaw (Vehicle)

Steeljaw’s vehicle mode looks pretty cool.  The disc launcher on the roof works pretty well.

Steeljaw (Robot)

Steeljaw’s not bad looking, but I still can’t really get behind these animal robot mode Decepticons

Thunderhoof (Vehicle)

Thunderhoof’s vehicle looks good, but it would look much better if they had painted the comb black.

Thunderhoof (Robot)

Probably the worst of the bunch.  Thunderhoof’s missile will not stay loaded in the launcher.  It just fires on its own after a while.

Overall: About what you’d expect from McDonald’s toys.  A few good, a d few not so good.  Nothing great.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
