Blog #903: Toy Review: Transformers: Generations: Combiner Wars Defensor

Combined Mode: Defensor is absolutely awesome.  He has only one flaw, and it’s minor.  If you read my review of Hot Spot, you’ll know that he has a design flaw.  In robot mode his upper legs don’t lock to his lower legs, making you have to balance him to keep him standing upright.  These same joints don’t lock into place when combined into Defensor, so if you aren’t careful when you pick him up, Hot Spot’s lower legs slide down and away from his waist.  It doesn’t affect him when he’s on display but this would be annoying if you were playing with it.  My only other complaint, and it’s minor, is that if you don’t put Groove on his chest, he looks very G1.  Groove messes that up, but you really have no choice, as he is one of the Protectobots and really must be included.  I admit that I really can’t wait to get the Japanese version that has Deluxe Groove.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
