Mold: Transformers: Prime Deluxe Arcee (Repainted, No Mold Changes)

This is something of an oddity.  In the past, Fun Pub has reused molds whenever possible.  To a point this makes sense, though I think sometimes they overdo it and try to come up with something to use a mold for rather than pick the right mold for the right toy.  This time, however, I’m not sure why they didn’t reuse a mold.  Between the Club Store Exclusive Transmutate, Souvenir Flareup, and Attendee Flamewar, they used all three Transformers: Prime Deluxe Arcee molds.  I just don’t understand why they didn’t use one of them twice.  Either the First Edition or regular deluxe toy could have been Transmutate and Flareup.  The First Edition mold used for Transmutate is much better than this one, but this isn’t a bad mold.

The mold choice aside, this is a really great looking toy.  Not a fan of the weapons with this one which is one reason I prefer the First Edition toy, but it’s not a huge thing.  They did a really nice job on the color scheme, and I really don’t mind them doing a new version of an old toy so long as they do it better.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
