Blog #553: Toy Reviews: Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Predaking (New Mold)

Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Predaking (New Mold)

Dragon Mode:  It’s taken a while for me to track it down, but I’ve finally got the new simplified mold Beast Hunters Voyager Predaking, and he was well worth the wait.  The first thing to know is that it is quite a bit larger than the original design, while still staying the at the same price point.  This is such a huge improvement of the original.  I love the translucent orange wings that are correctly painted black along the front edges.  They got rid of the stupid extra heads.  His transformation is nice and simple, it was like trying to figure out a puzzle getting the tail of the old one transformed.  He’s got wonderful painted details.

Robot Mode:  I love his head sculpt, though it still doesn’t quite look like the animation.  He’s got great paint apps in robot mode.  It’s a shame that this one seems so hard to find.  It puts the original to shame.  Points to Hasbro for realizing what a bad toy the original was and making a better one.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
