Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Voyager Grimlock
Vehicle Mode: Grimlock is pretty awesome. They have done a great job updating one of the iconic characters of the Transformers Universe. I just wish they gold chromed his yellow parts. The Japanese version appears to have these parts painted metallic gold (though not chromed). I’m crossing my fingers that somewhere down the line Hasbro will release a gold chromed version. I love the light up eyes and dinosaur mouth.
Robot Mode: He looks pretty great in robot mode. Again, the chrome would look so much better. The one thing that bothers me, he feels very hollow. Like he’s a shell without much inside him. I can’t explain it better than that. Still, Grimlock is definitely worth getting.
It’s worth noting that Grimlock is packed three to a case. I must give credit to Hasbro where it’s due. I had expected him to be short packed, as he is certainly the more desired toy (Blaster is a G1 character, but he’s a third use of the same mold in two waves). Points to Hasbro for getting something right for a change. Could it be they are finally figuring out that they will sell more toys if they don’t over pack the toys that fewer people want? I shudder to think what will happen if Hasbro has actually wised up.
