Blog #283: Toy Reviews: Japanese Transformers Prime Capsule Arms Micron Series 3

The third series of Japanese Transformers Prime Arms Microns Capsule toys are out.  The full set includes 5 toys, Ratchet, Wheeljack, Starscream, and two color variations of a dragonfly named Dobo (not to be confused with Dabo, a popular game played in Quark’s bar on Deep Space Nine).  They come fully assembled and in lieu of stickers have painted details (on Ratchet, Wheeljack, and Starscream).  This entire series is a bit of a let down after the first two series.  Ratchet and Wheeljack look really great in robot mode, but their weapon modes are a spanner and a sword (I saw it called a Kunai online) and aren’t that great.  Starscream’s robot mode is okay, but his boomerang mode isn’t.  It doesn’t transform very well.  The dragonfly, Dobo, is kind of cool.  He comes in red/green and green/red and turns into a gatling gun.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
