It will come as no surprise that I am picking the Patriots to win Super Bowl XLVI. However, before I get to the specific predictions, there is one thing I want to mention first.
Someone at ESPN is an idiot. Earlier this week ESPN did a story that asked which ankle was a bigger deal, Rob Gronkowski’s or Curt Schilling’s. I would love to know what moron came up with that. Gronk has a high ankle sprain, a serious sprain, yes, but still just a sprain. He and the Patriots will be trying to win their fourth Super Bowl in eleven years. On the other side, you have Curt Schilling. He lay on a trainer’s table in the clubhouse and while the team surgeon cut open his ankle and sewed his tendon to the bone. It was an untested medical procedure that for all he knew could have ended his career or caused permanent injury. He did it all so the Red Sox could win their first World Series in 86 years. Of course, Schilling’s ankle was the bigger story. To argue otherwise is ludicrous. Whoever came up with that story should be fired. It was dumb.
Had to get that off my chest. Onward to my predictions.
I see the Patriots winning 45-21. Brady throws 5 TD passes, three to Gronk and two to Welker. Ochocinco catches six passes for 100+ yards. Julian Edelman will run back an interception for a touchdown. Benjarvus Green-Ellis will run for 100+ yards. Eli Manning will be sacked six times and throw four interceptions.
Admittedly, it’s possible that I’m biased, but regardless of how they do it or the final score, the Patriots are going to win and I think it will be a decisive win.
