Blog #2988: Toy Review: Transformers Generations Age of the Primes Voyager Class Armada Sideways with Crosswise and Rook

Transformers Generations Age of the Primes Voyager Class Armada Sideways with Crosswise and Rook

Crosswise

Somehow Hasbro managed to make Crosswise worse than the original. His arms are a removable piece not incorporated into him. The original toy did this better. So much for all the engineering that had to go into this toy that he’s a Voyager rather than the Deluxe he actually is.

Rook

See my comments on Crosswise. In Rook’s case, it is his legs that are a separate piece.

Mirror

Mirror is fine. He might look a little better than the original toy. Having had Crosswise’s arms and Rook’s legs removed probably helps, but still, this is less well engineered than the original.

Sideways

Vehicle Mode: Sideways looks great in vehicle mode. Mirror appears to be a bit small for him.

Robot Mode: Sideways looks pretty good in robot mode in all his configurations. He should have the ability to have no symbol on his chest and he does not.

Overall: I’m not sure this Sideways is actually better than the original toy.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
