Blog #2910: Toy Review: Transformers Generations Age of the Primes Wreck ‘N Doom 2-Pack Sandstorm and Slugslinger

Transformers Generations Age of the Primes Wreck ‘N Doom 2-Pack Sandstorm and Slugslinger

Previous Mold Use: Legacy United Leader Class Sandstorm

This new version of Sandstorm has a new animation accurate face, a slightly light shard of orange plastic, and his gray plastic is now black. I might prefer the toy accurate head of the first version, but the black plastic replacing the gray is an enormous improvement. There are some other minor deco changes, but nothing hugely significant.

Caliburst

Previous Mold Use: Titans Return Titan Master Blowpipe, Legends Headmaster Triggerhappy, Titans Return Titan Master Unnamed Headmaster, Titans Return Titan Master Aimless, Legends Headmaster Misfire, Titans Return Titan Master Caliburst, Legends Headmaster Slugslinger, Legends Headmaster Sonic Bomber

Slugslinger

Previous Mold Use: Titans Return Deluxe Class Triggerhappy, Legends Deluxe Class Triggerhappy, Titans Return Deluxe Class Metalhawk, Titans Return Deluxe Class Misfire, Legends Deluxe Class Misfire, Titans Return Deluxe Class Slugslinger, Legends Deluxe Class Slugslinger, Legends Deluxe Class Sonic Bomber

Slugslinger now has a more animation accurate paintjob. That would be pretty cool, but Hasbro still didn’t include his fucking Targetmaster, so what is the point of releasing him at all?

Overall: Sandstorm is barely worth having if you really need the animation accurate face. Slugslinger is fine, but without a Targetmaster, he’s basically Garbage.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
