Blog #2801: Toy Review: Xingbianchanshen 6 in 1 (Transformers G1 and G2 Devastator, Bonecrusher, Hook, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Scavenger, Scrapper) (Small and Large Versions)

Xingbianchanshen 6 in 1 (Transformers G1 and G2 Devastator, Bonecrusher, Hook, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Scavenger, Scrapper) (Small and Large Versions)

I picked these third party, or knockoff if you prefer, Devastators up on Ali Express. (I think they might actually be knockoffs of third party toys, but I don’t know, someone really needs to start a Third Party Transformers Wiki.) I have a green and yellow version of both sizes (four total). They are pretty cheap. The larger one (which is about 10 or 11 inches tall when combined I believe) is around $20, and the smaller one (about 8 inches) is around $10, but prices vary. The name on the box the bigger one comes in says “Xingbianchanshen”. I have no idea how I would even try to pronounce that. The smaller version is not a downsized mold, it’s clearly based on the design of the larger one, but the design is simplified and the detail reduced. One of the coolest thing about this set is how it incorporates all of Devastator’s parts into the toys. Let’s start with the larger version first.

Bonecrusher

Bonecrusher’s scoop is die cast, which is nice. I really like the paint apps on his treads. His robot mode is rough with the scoop giving him an oddly shaped torso.

Hook

Hook’s vehicle mode has very few paint apps, but he looks great in robot mode.

Long Haul

Long Haul looks great in dump truck mode except for Devastator’s crotch hanging off the back. In robot mode he looks pretty great. He has quite a few paint apps.

Mixmaster

In vehicle mode Mixmaster looks great. He has lots of paint apps in robot mode.

Scavenger

Like Bonecrusher, Scavengers has a die cast scoop and great paint apps on his treads. In robot mode his shovel arm and scoop fold up on his chest. I have mixed feelings on that. On one hand, it’s a lot better than it hanging off his back, on the other it doesn’t look great like that.

Scrapper

Scrapper also has a die cast scoop. He looks the best of the whole set in robot mode. Paint apps look great, but I don’t know why they made his whole head silver.

Devastator

For the price, Devastator looks pretty cool. I love how their guns all combine into one.

The smaller set is, as I said, less detailed, and less complex. I don’t really have any specific comments on it. Pics below.

Overall: For their price, they are cool, but I wouldn’t say they are must haves.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
