TFC Toys Hades (Generation One Liokaiser)
Liokaiser
Liokaiser, assembled in all his glory. He looks fantastic. Wish I could get my hands on my G1 to take comparison picks. He comes with what looks like a harpoon, but is more likely meant to be a staff, which can separate into a three-section staff. That’s what Wikipedia calls it, but it has a bunch of other names to. It’s cool, but I need to talk about its design. While I was setting it up to take the picture the two chains fell out of the middle section. I took it apart and found that the chains weren’t actually attached inside, just a loop over a post, with no post on the other half to close it. I just used a little super glue to fix it, but I don’t know how it could be designed this way. I did have a hell of a time getting him to stand while holding the staff, he became pretty front heavy.
Overall: Other than the issue with the staff, I think Liokaiser came out pretty great, though I do think he was a bit overpriced or undersized. Kind of hoping Hasbro or Takara gives us one. The Combiner Wars one was a nice toy, but we deserve a better one.
