Blog #2383: Toy Review: Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Titan Changers Wave 1 (Cheetor, Megatron, Optimus Prime)

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Titan Changers Wave 1 (Cheetor, Megatron, Optimus Prime)

Cheetor

In beast mode Cheetor looks pretty good. He’s not perfect, his back legs are completely hollow in back, but I’ve seen far worse toys. Really, my biggest complaint is that he needed more spots. In robot mode Cheetor is okay. He does have a pretty great head sculpt.

Megatron

Megatron was clearly designed for the Authentics line and repurposed for Rise of the Beasts. His box art is interesting though. Perhaps we might see Megatron in the movie looking like that. In robot mode he’s just okay, but the tank is pretty cool.

Optimus Prime

Like Megatron, Optimus Prime was clearly meant for the Authentics line. His robot mode is okay. I really like his truck mode accept for the two holes in his roof.

Overall: It’s kind of odd to me that Optimus Primal is not in this series. There is one upcoming in the Authentics line. Putting Megatron there and Optimus Primal in the actual movie line would have made more sense. On the other hand, they might not have any other Megatron for this line and they have plenty of Optimus Primals. None of these are must haves, but for display in alt mode Megatron and Cheetor are decent enough.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
