Transformers: Retro: Transformers: The Movie Hot Rod

The box has a flap, which would be great if the box had a window. If it’s not going to have a window, they are just wasting the box flap. This plastic free packaging sucks balls.

Hot Rod looks great. Instead of stickers he is fully painted to match his appearance in Transformers: The movie. They did a really great job on him. He still looks like he is missing stickers, but it bothers me a lot less than it did with Starscream.

Overall: While Hot Rod is a great toy, I don’t know that I can call him a must have if you already have one, unlike Starscream, whose painted face made him an absolute must have. Still he’s different enough from any previous version to make him worth picking up.
