Blog #2354: Toy Review: Transformers: Legacy Evolution Leader Class Skyquake

Transformers: Legacy Evolution Leader Class Skyquake

Skyquake

Vehicle Mode: Skyquake is awesome! His jet mode is a bit different from the original, having a wider fuselage, more triangle shaped than the original, but he looks so great. His colors are perfect, though he’s more olive green than the original toy’s dark green, though it still looks amazing.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Skyquake is equally amazing. I love his weapon, and he can hold it with both hands. My only complain is his face. His head sculpt is great, but it is mostly dark gray, where the original was silver. More silver paint on his face would look better. Plus the original had red eyes. This one has light piped orange eyes, but they don’t light up very well. I would have preferred them painted red.

Overall: Even with his imperfectly painted face, Skyquake is just awesome. He’s an absolute must have, though we are likely to get three more copies of this mold as his brother Dreadwing, G2 Skyquake, and Machine Wars Starscream, so if you like one of those color schemes better and don’t want all of them, it might be worth waiting.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
