Transformers: Studio Series: Rise of the Beasts: Voyager Class Battletrap

Battletrap

Vehicle Mode: I love the orange and gray color scheme, Battletrap really looks great in vehicle mode. His paint apps are perfect. Unfortunately, some of his tabs don’t quite stay in place correctly. There is also a gab between the bottom of the cab in back and his side panels. It seems like it’s there on purpose, but looks wrong. Not a huge thing, but noticeable.

Robot Mode: In robot mode Battletrap looks amazing. I love the colors and he has tons of molded details. A few small issues though. He does not have a gun, just a mace, which is cool, but I would have preferred he have a gun. Also, the orange shields and gray spikes on his shoulders don’t click into place, so it’s hared to get them lined up on each side. I would have preferred they click into position. Also, he has a big chunk on the backs of each forearm, and the instructions are not at all clear on how it should be folded up. Those two pieces could have been removable and become a gun.

Overall: I am very impressed with the first wave of Studio Series ROTB toys, and Battletrap is no exception. Hasbro made a great, if imperfect toy in Battletrap. I highly recommend him.

I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
