Blog #2272: Toy Review: Transformers: Studio Series Core Class Wave 3 (Ratchet and Wheelie)

Transformers: Studio Series Core Class Wave 3 (Ratchet and Wheelie)

Ratchet

I don’t really understand why we need a Core Class Ratchet. We are getting a 1986 Movie Voyager Class Ironhide, so we will also be getting a Voyager Class Ratchet, but whatever. Ratchet is pretty awesome for his size. He needed a few more paint apps in vehicle mode, but he’s great other than that.

Wheelie

When I first saw pics of Wheelie, I didn’t like his vehicle mode at all. Now that I have him in hand, he’s growing on me. His robot mode is great, it’s just that big cockpit I don’t like. He should be more streamlined, though that may be my preference for the toy versus the animation.

Overall: Ratchet is an easy skip since we will get a Voyager Class one, but he’s not a bad toy. Wheelie is a must have.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
