Transformers Rescue Bots Flip Racers Griffin Rock extreme Team (Blurr, Chase, Optimus Prime)

When Hasbro cancelled the Rescue Bots Flip Racers line, a number of items were left unreleased. For some time I thought the Griffin Rock Extreme Team was one of them, only to find out that it had apparently come out. I’ve been searching for one for the last three years. Closest I came was an online toy store in the Philippines that did not ship internationally, so I was out of luck there. Then I found one on eBay from a seller in Panama. I could write several paragraphs on what garbage it is that other countries get toys that get cancelled in the USA, but I’m just going to say that Hasbro sucks and leave it at that.

Blurr

Blurr looks great as a super-car. While he needed more paint apps in robot mode, he is really well painted in vehicle mode. I wonder if Hasbro’s failure to properly paint toys is making some of these older ones look better in retrospect.

Chase

Chase is now a lifted suspension police car. Not sure why you would put that kind of suspension on a police car, but whatever. He is really well painted in vehicle mode, and yet they still can’t paint the Autobot logo on his chest.

Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime is now a jet with really tiny wings, front fenders, and strangely beefy rear suspension for a jet. It’s kind of cool, if weird.

Overall: This may not be the best set, but getting to wipe a longstanding item off my want list is always welcome. Recommending it is immaterial since it’s so hard to find. I kind of miss Flip Racers.
