Transformers: Walmart Exclusive Robot Enhanced Design (R.E.D.) Optimus Prime

Accessories

Optimus Prime comes with a pair of hands in fists, a pair of open hands, a pointing right hand, and a right hand that can hold an accessory.

Optimus Prime is awesome, except for one thing that ruins him completely. I’ll circle back to that. His Energon Axe and laser rifle look great. So many action figures have a hand molded to hold a gun with an extended trigger finger, but no matter what you do you can’t actually get them to hold the gun with their finger on the trigger. Optimus Prime can do just that. It is a small thing, but I really appreciate it. What ruins him is the Matrix. Optimus Prime’s Matrix should not be visible in robot mode. You can remove it, but the point of having the Matrix is to keep it in his chest. All they needed was a flip up panel in front of it. I’d have even been okay with a removable cover you put in over it.

Overall: With the exception of the visible Matrix, Optimus Prime is pretty great.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
