Blog #1726: Toy Review: Transformers: Cyberverse Scout Class Wave 4 (Energon Axe Attack Optimus Prime, Saw Tooth Spin Scraplet)

Transformers: Cyberverse Scout Class Wave 4 (Energon Axe Attack Optimus Prime, Saw Tooth Spin Scraplet)

Every Cyberverse Scout Class toy sucks. They are absolute garbage due to having no actual vehicle modes.

Energon Axe Attack Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime looks fine in robot mode, but his “vehicle mode” is a joke. Part of the problem is that in vehicle mode, the switch that prevents his body from twisting to swing the axes is flipped, so he can’t even keep the upper body of his “truck” straight. Hasbro’s concept for these scout class toys was so bad, they really should have just not made them at all.

Saw Tooth Spin Scraplet

I’m not sure if he transforms or not. He sort of stands up to be on two legs, but that might have just been so he fits in the package. When you depress the switch on the back of his head his mouth opens and a wheel inside spins.

Overall: I suppose the Scraplet is interesting, if for no reason than there has never been a Scraplet toy. Fortunately, I paid clearance prices for these so I don’t feel quite so annoyed with how bad they are.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
