Transformers: Generations: Power of the Primes Deluxe Terrorcon Rippersnapper

Click here to read about how Hasbro ruined the Power of the Primes line before it even started.

Rippersnapper

Monster Mode: We have been waiting a long time for a new set of Terrorcons, and Rippersnapper is a great start. His monster mode is awesome. They did an incredible job with one unfortunate exception. If you look at the above pics, you’ll see that he appears to have a rub sign on his head. He doesn’t. That is tampo that looks like a rub sign with the Decepticon logo revealed. There are only two explanations for this. Someone thought it was clever to put fake rub signs on. It isn’t. They used rub signs not that long ago. They could have used real ones. The other possibility is that whoever designed the deco new nothing about Transformers, was given an original Rippersnapper to work from, and no one who knows anything about Transformers bothered to look at it to make sure they hadn’t done something stupid. Even when Hasbro gets something 99% right, that 1% is so ridiculous, so incompetent, so incomprehensibly stupid, that it ruins the whole thing.

Robot Mode: Rippersnapper’s robot mode looks awesome. He has great paint apps and I love the head sculpt.

Overall: Rippersnapper is 99% awesome, but that damn 1 % really sucks. He is a must though. I can’t wait to have all of Abominus.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
