Blog #1326: Toy Review: Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) Combiner Ultra Bee (Bumblebee, Strongarm, Sideswipe, Grimlock)

Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) Combiner Ultra Bee (Bumblebee, Strongarm, Sideswipe, Grimlock)

Bumblebee

Bumblebee looks pretty good in both modes. The only real problem with him is that he is larger than Sideswipe and Strongarm. This works well on Menasor as Motormaster is supposed to be larger. It makes no sense with Bumblebee.

Strongarm looks good in both modes. She could have used some more paint apps in vehicles mode.

Sideswipe

I like Sideswipe’s vehicle mode. He looks okay in robot mode, but has his hood as his feet, which I really don’t like.

Grimlock

Grimlock is a god awful mess in dinosaur mode. His front half is okay, but his back half is just a mess. In robot mode he looks pretty great though.

Ultra Bee

Ultra Bee doesn’t look too bad. His sword is supposed to be Drift, which is ridiculous. I think he would have looked better if Grimlock had been the torso and Bumblebee and Drift had been his legs.

Overall: I think Menasor is the better of the two toys, but Ultra Bee isn’t bad in combined mode.

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
