Read my reviews for the previous versions of this mold as Optimus Prime and Motormaster.

Battle Core Optimus Prime has a new head.  He’s predominantly white, but not called Ultra Magnus because they did an actual Ultra Magnus toy for Combiner Wars.  He’s not bad looking, though I’m not crazy about the gray legs.  The only reason for this toy’s existence is that they “needed” to release a Voyager toy in Wave 4 to go with the Autobot limbs for their faux combiner Optimus Maximus.  I don’t mind using toys capable of combing for non combiner characters.  Having the ability to combine is fine, but I’m not at all impressed with the idea that everything has to combine in this line.  It’s just like with next year’s Titan Masters line.  They don’t ALL have to have the Headmaster gimmick, but they will.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
