Blog #848: Toy Reviews: Q Transformers Wave 3 (Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Jazz, Sunstreaker, Red Alert, Smokescreen)

Q Transformers Wave 3 (Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Jazz, Sunstreaker, Red Alert, Smokescreen)

These are pretty cool.  They are tiny, just a couple inches long at most.  Wave 3 is based on G1 and includes Optimus Prime (sort of based on his Alternity vehicle mode), Wheeljack, Jazz, Sunstreaker, Red Alert, and Smokescreen.

There really isn’t a lot to say about these.  I have just a few comments below.

Optimus Prime is okay, but I want a G1 truck.  Wheeljack looks really great.  Jazz looks too much like Bumblejumper in vehicle mode and he has too much black on his robot mode.  He should be predominantly white.

All three of these look great, though I would have liked to see the open engine on Sunstreaker, but that’s probably asking too much at this scale.

Overall: At about $10 each, they are pretty cheap, certainly cheap enough to make it worth picking up your favorite characters.

Thanks for reading!

About lmb3

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
