Series 1 was really cool. With the exception of Prowl being black, they were nicely painted. Series 2 sucks. I would like to get someone at Hasbro to explain how series 1 can be so well painted and series 2 is crap. More below.
Still nothing on the back but pictures of the garbage.
Ultra Magnus has the right base color, blue, but no white at all and just a few red and silver apps. He is mostly unpainted and looks like crap.
Like Magnus, Topspin is in the right base color, but has silver, and not enough of it, instead of white. I’m not sure if he is meant to be G1 or an RID Topspin.
If I didn’t know that this card came in the same package as this toy, I would think it was a mismatch. The toy looks nothing like he is supposed to. Not even the right base color.
Superion is mostly gray, but really should be white. That’s not a huge deal, but he’s missing all the paint apps he should have on his arms and legs. Without them he doesn’t look at all like Superion.
Starscream is not bad, and not painting the base sucks. Really should be lighter gray, but he’s one of the better paint jobs in the wave. That isn’t saying much.
Now, I realize that in the G1 Marvel comic books, at least some of them, Soundwave was purple. That would be because someone screwed up. He was never supposed to be purple, and he really looks stupid.
If Sharkticon is supposed to be G1 Sharkticon, then I’m not a fan. He needs to look more robotic. If he’s RID Sharkticon, then that’s different. He is one of the best painted ones regardless of whether he is G1 or RID.
Please see my comments on Terrashock above.
Well, they got his base colors right, but Cyclonus needed lots more paint apps. There is just too much purple.
Ratchet is gray instead of white which sucks. If he was white, the paint apps would be enough to make him one of the better ones. Unfortunately, he isn’t.
Bumblebee doesn’t look bad, but I can’t recall him ever being yellow and gray. All they had to do was make the gray parts black and he would have been close to perfect.
A blue and silver Jazz? What the hell is that? He looks ridiculous.
Overall: This is crap. Hasbro seems to have put a lot of work into Series 1 and then went cheap crap for Series 2, knowing everyone would just assume they maintained the same level of quality. You suck Hasbro.
