Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015) Warrior Class Drift
Vehicle Mode: The design of Drift’s car mode makes it look like the front fenders can separate. Now, if this is the case, then the toy should have been designed to have them closed and to be able to open, or even just closed. As it is the fenders don’t move. If they are not meant to open and close, then it looks pretty cool, but if not, then it’s a fail. I’m not a fan of the black doors. They should have been orange with black striping. The roof and back of he car also needed some black stripes. I do overall love the black and orange color scheme, but it’s a major departure for Drift. Hasbro made a really stupid argument for the different color Dinobots in the Age Of Extinction toy line, so that the colors were identifiable to the characters. Would it not, if that were true, make more sense to keep characters in similar color schemes? Plus, as much as I like black and orange, this toy might look better in blue.

Robot Mode: I’m not a fan of Drift’s head sculpt, but he otherwise looks nice. He’s got slots to store his swords, but it would look better if they weren’t sticking straight back and were tilted towards the ground. That’s a small thing.
Overall: Not bad, but that car front end thing bugs me. If it’s meant to open and close, then this toy is really not very good. Guess we’ll have to wait for the cartoon to find out.
