Toy Reviews: Transformers Rescue Bots Dinobot Heatwave (Non-Transforming)

I am incredibly disappointed that this toy does not transform.  I like the little transforming Heatwave, but I was hoping for a big one.  I’m still not sure if we are getting any other transforming Dinobots or not.  I’m really confused about what is coming out for Rescue Bots since they seem more interested in random toys like this than the regular transforming series.

Anyway…

It’s a kind of a cool toy.  He have flashing lights and has sound affects and phrases, though not in Heatwave’s actual voice.  His neck extends and his tail has a couple of points of articulation.  He can carry a figure on his tail and head.  The button on the back of his head opens his jaws.

Overall: He has some cool action features, but it’s just not a great toy.  A little more engineering and he could have transformed just like the little one does.  It would be different if he was really accurate to the cartoon like the upcoming Epic Series figures seem to be, but we haven’t even seen them as Dinobots in the series yet.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
