Transformers Artifact of the Week: Botcon 2013 Golden Ticket Exclusive Autographed Print
I just picked this up. It is an autographed print given to those who purchased a Golden Ticket package for Botcon 2013. It’s limited to 100 copies and signed by Glenn Morshower (Colonel Sharp in Transformers and General Morshower in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers: Dark of the Moon), James Horan (Wheeljack in Transformers: Prime), David Sobolov (Shockwave in Transformers: Prime and Depth Charge in Transformers: Beast Wars), Wally Burr (Voice Director for the original Transformers cartoon), and Jason Jansen (appeared in a Transformers commercial).
Unfortunately, in true Fun Pub fashion, someone screwed up somewhere. The print also includes G1 Six-Gun (voice by Maurice LaMarche), Transformers: Prime Starscream (voiced by Steve Blum), and Silverbolt holding a Bad Spark script (written by Greg Johnson). All three attended the convention and were clearly supposed to sign the print, but for whatever reason, didn’t.
This might be why it only cost me $10. That’s right, the minimum bid was $10 for a “limited edition” of 100 convention exclusive autographed print, and I won it at minimum bid of $10. Now, this print doesn’t have some of the bigger names who have attended in recent years, and it is missing some of the autographs it was meat to have, but still. $10? It’s kind of mind boggling. It says something when people practically have to give away exclusive merchandise.
There seems to be a clear downward trend in the value of Fun Pub’s exclusive Botcon merchandise. Even the Seekers three pack that sold out at the con last year can be bought for less than $200 now. Most of the other exclusives are still available in the club store. Not that I’m complaining. Cheaper is good for me.
As always, you can find over 9000 Transformers merchandise items and collectibles at TFMuseum.com.
