Transformers Kre-O Micro-Changers Combiner Computron (Technobots Scattershot, Strafe, Afterburst, and Lightstorm)
The Technobots are my favorite G1 combiner team, and they’ve done an amazing job on him.
Scattershot
Scattershot looks really great. He has some resemblance to his original vehicle mode. I love the colors. His robot mode is great.
Strafe
Strafe was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid. It’s not a super complicated toy, but I always loved the jet mode, and they did a pretty decent job making him a Kreon. He looks great in robot mode. None of the Technobots have their torso art covered up. Points to Hasbro for that.
Afterburst
Afterburner (now called Afterburst) was another favorite of mine. The only problem with him is that you can’t really get his front wheel into the position shown in the directions. He would look better if the wheel could go farther forward like the instructions show, but the Kre-O instructions continue to be at best lousy. Looks great in robot mode.
Lightstorm
Lightspeed (now called Lightstorm, which is a pretty great name) looks great. As with all vehicle Kreons, he has his front wheels in his hands, and they seem to be unable to come up with another option. He looks great in robot mode. They did a wonderful job on his torso art.
Computron
Computron looks fantastic, one of the best toys in the line. I would have been really pissed if they had never done Computron.
I still can’t believe how awful the stickers for Kre-O Micro-Change Combiners are. They use the clear labels on dark plastic, and you can hardly see the designs on them. It’s just basic logic that you can’t put these kind of stickers on dark plastic. The stupidity of it is mind boggling, even from Hasbro.
Thanks for reading!
INTERESTING…. I’ll have to check there. Thanks! This is the *one* set I’ve really been waiting for, and haven’t been able to find anywhere except triple the price on eBay.
I got mine from hasbrotoyshop.com, but they don’t have them anymore. A friend of mine found them at a Marshall’s store on clearance. I think Marshall’s took a lot of old Kre-O stock. They also had the Ultimate Kreon sets that never made it to regular retail stores.
I’ve been hunting around for this guy and can’t seem to find him.. Any ideas what stores carry (carried?) him? So far, no luck at Toys ‘r Us or Walmart..
