Blog #520: Toy Review: Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Deluxe Prowl

Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Deluxe Prowl

Vehicle Mode: Prowl looks fantastic.  His futuristic police car mode fits in perfectly with the Prime line.  He’s got great paint apps.  It is interesting to note that he is the first Beast Hunters Autobot or Decepticon toy (Predacons accepted) not to have built in or removable armor of any kind.  With Smokescreen and Shockwave, they gave them removable armor since we hadn’t had regular toys of them.  It’s just a little odd that they didn’t do that, though it really isn’t a big deal.  He is the last regular Deluxe toy in the line (the upcoming Deluxes are upsized Legion toys) so they may have decided not to bother.

Robot Mode: I really wish his head sculpt was a little bit more like G1 Prowl, but that’s really the only complaint I have.  It would have been nice to give him shoulder cannons though.

Thanks for reading!

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
