Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Voyager Blaster with Steeljaw
Steeljaw
Steeljaw is a repaint of Ravage with a new head. Unfortunately, the new head and repainting doesn’t make it a better toy.
Blaster
Vehicle Mode: Blaster is repainted from Soundwave/Soundblaster. His chest/front of vehicle has been remolded to look like G1 Blaster’s chest. He has a pretty decent paint job, but I’m not crazy about all the gray plastic in vehicle mode.
Robot Mode: While I don’t like the gray plastic in vehicle mode, it works perfectly in robot mode, making him match the colors on the original very well. He has a new head, which is a pretty great sculpt. I would have liked to see him have a bigger weapon (if you’ll recall Blaster’s G1 weapon was enormous). That’s not a major issue though. All in all a nice homage.
It’s worth noting that Blaster is short packed with only one to a case. I must give credit to Hasbro where it’s due. I had expected him to be the heavy pack, as he is certainly the less desired toy (Blaster is a G1 character, but he’s a third use of the same mold in two waves). Points to Hasbro for getting something right for a change. Could it be they are finally figuring out that they will sell more toys if they don’t over pack the toys that fewer people want? I shudder to think what will happen if Hasbro has actually wised up.
