Vehicle Mode: Kickback looks pretty great.  I love the gold, gray, and black with the purple.  He’s nicely detailed.  Unfortunately, he has one flaw.  There is no natural storage for his weapon.  As you can see in the picture above, I attached it inside one of his wings.  This looks kind of silly.  The insect abdomen splits in half and slides up on his forearms in robot mode.  It would have made far more sense to have his weapon become the insect abdomen.  My only other problem is that his hind legs have no way to be locked into the side of the abdomen.  I suppose as designed he is more in line with the anatomy of a grasshopper, but I hate it when everything doesn’t click into place.  This probably won’t bother most people.

Robot Mode: Kickback looks pretty great in robot mode.  My only real complaint is that the purple and gold panels on the sides on his chest don’t lock in place.  His disc launcher, aside from the issues when he’s in vehicle mode is very nice.  Not sure I like the extra set of arms, but that’s not a big deal, he is supposed to be an insect after all.

I’m 36 years old, and I work in network tech support for a public school system. I am a huge fan of Star Trek, Transformers, Harry Potter, and Marvel Comics as well as numerous other fandoms. I’m a big sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I collect toys (mostly Transformers but other stuff too), comic books, and Red Sox baseball cards. I watch an obscene amount of television and love going to the movies. I am hopelessly addicted to Wizard Rock and I write Harry Potter Fanfiction, though these days I am working on a couple of different original YA novels.
